Can the Refreshed Zeekr X Revive Its Sales? New Trims and Pricing Strategy

Zeekr, a subsidiary of Geely, today launched the refreshed Zeekr X. The model is available in three variants: the Max five-seater, Max four-seater, and Ultra five-seater, with starting prices of approximately $21,490, $22,041, and $24,248 respectively. Currently, a $1,379 trade-in subsidy is available. With the subsidy applied, the final prices would be approximately $20,110, $20,662, and $22,869 respectively.

In terms of specifications, the refreshed Zeekr X measures 4,450 *1,836 *1,572 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. Positioned as a compact SUV, the model offers both five-seat and four-seat configurations. For powertrain options, the model comes in single-motor and dual-motor versions. The single-motor version features a 250 kW rear-mounted motor, while the dual-motor version combines a 115 kW front motor with a 250 kW rear motor, delivering a total power output of 365 kW. The fastest acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 3.69 seconds.

In terms of battery options, the refreshed Zeekr X offers two versions: 61.47 kWh and 66 kWh. The former uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells supplied by Quzhou Geely, while the latter utilizes ternary lithium cells supplied by CATL-Geely . Both battery versions support fast charging and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality. The 61.47 kWh version provides a range of 530 km, while the 66 kWh version offers a range of 512 km (for the all-wheel-drive variant).

For assisted driving, the model is equipped with ZEEKR AD, supported by hardware that includes five millimeter-wave radars and twelve ultrasonic radars.

In terms of hardware, the refreshed Zeekr X remains largely similar to the previous generation, though the 49 kWh battery option has been discontinued, with the model now starting directly from the 61.47 kWh version.

In the Chinese market, the sales performance of the Zeekr X has been less than ideal. Over the past six months, its monthly sales have not exceeded 1,000 units, with the lowest figures dropping to just 300–400 units. For a model priced in the $20,000 – $25,000 range, such sales numbers are indeed quite low. This may be due to its relatively high pricing within the compact segment. However, setting the price aside, it remains a highly satisfying vehicle in terms of design, features, and safety. As for the pricing of the new model, its market performance will depend on future trends.
